La Boule Noire - Paris - MAMA FESTIVAL

The G FR// Rock

7.30-8.10 p.m.

The G is a duo of real brothers, born after 2000, and formed in 2014. Fiu, the elder is on drums and LuiG on guitar both sing texts that the father writes for them. Since Corsica their inspiration has its source in 70s rock, grunge 90s and White Stripes. Whether on the Main Square Festival stage, that of the Gibus du Reservoir, in the first half of the Midnight Oil Olympia or Insus, their appearance of perfect son-in-law always evokes at first a certain innocence … but each time the public is seized by the energy of the first sound that springs from their fingers. The G then shows a disconcerting maturity that could inspire some of their elders.

One Sentence. Supervisor feat. Bahur Ghazo CH//Krautpop

8.30-9.10 p.m.

With “This Heavy Sea”, voted best album of the year in 2013 by the SRF, a tour in China in 2014 and growing recognition in their native Switzerland, One Sentence. Supervisor have a very promising future ahead of them. Formed in Baden in 2011, OSS recalls the phantoms of the eighties with their catchy, misty new wave pop, unencumbered by too many references. A universe that is hard to categorize, in which omnipresent synthetic sounds meet tense repetitive rhythms without ever becoming tedious. As for their obsessive melodies playing between shadow and light, they are tinged with psychedelic colors that unfold like some celestial stairway towards the imaginary. In fall 2016 they released their new record “Temporär Musik 1-13” through Swiss label “Oh, Sister! Records”. It was voted for the “Indiesuisse Album of the year” and it was rereleased in France in December 2017.

Coco Bans US-FR// Alternative

9.30-10.10 p.m.

From Iowa to France, the voice of COCO BANS weaves around the globe between instantaneous pop anthems and intimate yet hybrid folk songs. This voice belongs to American singer-songwriter Allyson Ezell, who has collaborated with some of the biggest and most promising artists (Lil Wayne, Julian Perretta, Fakear, Kiddy Smile, Jabberwocky). Hailed as a vocalist to watch, Ezell has already garnered attention from the likes of BBC Introducing, les Inrocks, Indie Shuffle and The Line of Best Fit, who claims, “her masterful skills on the mic are some of the most impressive in modern pop”. 2018 marks a first EP for COCO BANS. 5 songs true to her image: folk-gospel background + smash magic.

The Fin. JP//Indie

10.30-11.10 p.m.

The fin., a three-member indie rock band born in Kobe (Japan) and based in London, have quickly drawn attention through Internet outside the borders of their homeland thanks to their stylish soundscape, a blend of synth-pop and shoegaze from the 80’s-90’s with nowadays American indie-pop and chillwave. Having performed at the biggest music festivals, including Fuji Rock in Japan, The Great Escape in UK or SXSW in the US, as well as supported major artists like The Last Shadow Puppets, Circa Waves or MEW, and toured through UK, America or Asia, The fin. is gradually becoming a leading figure of a new generation of bands. Their second album “There”, a summation of their past three years of experiences accumulated around the world and of their last year based in London, has been released on March 14th 2018, and followed by a tour all over Asia drawing crowds in China, Taiwan, Thailand and Philippines.
